Director's Statement

“Johnny is just an everyday guy trying to follow his dreams. He's the underdog and unlike in most cliché situations, in this story he stays that way. Not to say he won't come out on top one day but not during this chapter of his life. Sometimes life keeps serving doses of pain and maybe that's what partly  attracted me to this story, that and these characters don't try to be glorified. They're flawed and dysfunctional and do the best they can.”

Production Notes

-From the Director-

“We wanted to create a contrast between Johnny's world and Kate's (his girlfriend) world. Johnny's environment is moody with stark shadows, hand-held camera and an ill favored green tint, while Kate's room is soft, bright and beautiful. The art design really helped achieve this extreme difference as well, along with the decor and final post-prod color-correction.”

Shooting was completed all within 3 days.

Shot exclusively in sunny San Diego, CA.

There are 6 visual effects shot in the film.

Performances

Lead Actor

Joe Ferran

Born and raised in San Diego Joe was the only actor in this film without a SAG card and a page in imdb.com. Despite having no previous experience he was picked for this movie simply because he fit the image of who we had in mind for the role.  Ensuring us that we made the right decision, Joe stepped up to the challenge of playing the title role and the only thing he had in common with the character was their age.  Only a few acting classes under his belt, Joe brought out his natural talent portraying Johnny in his very first on screen role.  Seeing him in the film shouldn't be the last time we see him, he has the look and the ability to find his place in this industry.

Supporting Actor

Courtney Halverson

Courtney Halverson, born in Southern California, is successfully building a diverse career playing avariety of roles in film, television and commercials.  A natural redhead with sparkling green eyes, Courtney began her acting career at an early age in local stage productions, music videos and independent films.  A high school graduate at age 15, Courtney has continued to pursue an education in tandem with her acting career. In addition to acting Courtney enjoys photography, cooking, fashion and writing. She is also interested in working behind the camera and has been working on a few scripts for film and television. Courtney is involved with several charitable causes including 'New Leash On Life' (a nonprofit animal rescue organization) and 'Kids With A Cause'. Courtney is an avid traveler and has journeyed to England, Argentina, Uruguay and the Bahamas both for business and pleasure. On the home front she has filmed projects in California, Oklahoma and Alaska. In the future she lists Greece, France and India as places she would like to experience.

Supporting Actor

Angela Jones

Angela Jones is an American actress. She was born and raised in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, a town southeast of Pittsburgh. She is a graduate of Point Park College in Pittsburgh. Quentin Tarantino discovered her in the short film Curdled (1991), directed by Reb Braddock.  Tarantino was impressed with her performance and cast her in  Pulp Fiction and then in  1996  the staring role in Curdled.  In Saul Hudson's 2007 biography "Slash", it was mentioned that while recording the soundtrack for the film "Curdled", he had a huge crush on her and the two had a short lived

relationship.

Supporting Actor

Len Irving

Len is originally from Massachusetts and spent his first moment on stage at the age of ten in a Bicentennial show 1776. As a young man Len trained and performed as a Professional Clown with Jerry Fries and Ron Severini from Entertainments Unlimited. It inspired Len to further develop his craft in the performing arts where he earned his B.F.A. in Acting from Boston University. He spent over two years living in the U.K. working in radio, television, and theatre, including a performance at the Edinburgh Theatre Festival in Blue Window by Craig Lucas. Later, he appeared in The Tempest as Caliban at the New Boston Theatre, in Proposal at the Alias Stage in Providence, Rhode Island, and toured for several years with a Boston children’s theatre company, History Making Productions in Lets’ Go West. His television credits include The Young & the Restless.  Len has appeared in many Independent Films including Ten Paces, Cobbler's Daughter, 11 Minutes Ago, which won a Gold Award, at WorldFest in Houston and has been well received on the festival circuit, and a Lead Role in the comedy short Crew, which won three festival awards as well. Len recently wrapped Lead & Supporting Roles in several shorts that are in Post-Production: Prozopius, Second Chances, and Johnny on the Spot (with Angela Jones, "Pulp Fiction"). Len is currently in Post-

Production on a Mystery, Independent Feature Film called Pornography: A Thriller where he plays a NYC Cop.
